Autumn Gibson
Therapy Intern
My professional background is rooted in behavior analysis, where I have spent the past 15 years working with both children and adults with developmental disabilities, with a particular focus on individuals on the autism spectrum. Throughout this work, I have supported clients in building executive functioning skills, coping strategies, and self-regulation, while also providing education and collaboration with families and other important people in their lives.
Â
My decision to pivot into mental health counseling comes from a desire to support individuals in a more holistic way—helping them connect with all parts of themselves, not just the behaviors others can see. I am especially interested in expanding my skill set to better support individuals navigating anxiety and trauma, and in understanding how life experiences, emotions, relationships, and identity intersect.
I genuinely enjoy connecting with others and taking the time to understand what matters most to them and what motivates them. As a lifelong learner, I believe there is always more to discover—about ourselves, our relationships, and the world around us—and I bring that curiosity and openness into every therapeutic connection.

My Integrative Approach
I approach the counseling process as a collaborative journey—one grounded in curiosity, compassion, and respect for your lived experience. I bring with me a rich background in supporting individuals as they explore personal values and motivations, strengthen communication, build coping skills, and develop patterns that support positive change. My work is informed by helping people set goals, navigate life transitions, and respond to challenges with greater self-understanding and flexibility.
Â
At the heart of my approach is the belief that you are the expert of your own life. My role is to walk alongside you—offering support, reflection, and tools—while honoring your autonomy, strengths, and inner wisdom.

What We Can Experience Together
In our work together, you can expect a collaborative and nonjudgmental space that values openness, curiosity, and reflection. Sessions may include gentle exploration of patterns, strengths, and challenges, as well as opportunities to build practical tools that support emotional awareness, coping, and personal growth. Above all, I aim to offer a steady, compassionate presence—one that supports you in navigating life’s challenges, deepening self-understanding, and moving toward changes that feel authentic and meaningful to you.
